Diving into a world of film and multimedia, Justine explores the world through short film and animation and helps other musicians realise their creative vision through visual media and live recordings
RED DOG STUDIO SESSIONS
Kicking off in 2016 Justine Wahlin led a small group of volunteers to create a space that supports musicians, provides an intimate space for music lovers and provides free online content for independent artists. The Red Dog Studio Crew is made up of Justine Wahlin, Matt Thomson, Natasha David, Peter Fenwick and Michael Patterson who collectively continue to realise the Red Dog Studio Sessions vision.
Starting in a converted double garage in Randwick over 150 unique artists and groups have been recorded live in front of intimate audiences so far. Red Dog Sessions continue as ‘Red Dog on the Road“.

ANIMATION
My love of drawing and background in visual arts has led me to look for ways to join music and art. As a result I’ve been exploring stop animation and hand drawn animation to bring stories to life. delving into these worlds has connected me again with the joy of putting pen to paper and brush to paint. I’ve also enjoyed the exploration of texture and combining multimedia as a means to create living landscapes and characters.
WILLOW - BY Justine Wahlin
Created for my song “Willow” from the album “A Pair of Dreamers” is a tale inspired by the intimate life of plants. It touches on deep timeless love that is not necessarily obvious to we mere mortals. It also alludes to the natural capacity of children to feel and connect with honesty and compassion.
It speaks of the love of a father, who like so many may expresses his love in a language with a double edge and unwittingly creates trauma. In this story we are invited to contemplate how beautiful things are made from beautiful things and how we must honour the life taken, how the spirit of that being can live on in the expression of the thing created.
There is magic too and rebirth, all part of a day like any other if we look and feel deeply enough.
